The Enlightened Quintet

About The Enlightened Quintet

The Enlightened Quintet are a London-based ensemble with a residency at the Birmingham Conservatoire and The Purcell School. They were formed in 2009 comprised of graduates from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
The group’s members have worked alongside many of the UK’s leading Orchestras, including the English National Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Enlightened Quintet regularly perform across the UK and organise their own ‘Summer Concert’ series at the Saint James The Less Chruch in London. They are also the first British ensemble to tour the Czech Republic with the Young Prague Festival. Since then the group have gone on to win the auditions for a concert tour of Scotland in February 2016.

  • The Enlightened Quintet specialise in Classical music, light jazz and easy listening.

We are a London-based Wind Quintet and Resident Ensembles at Birmingham Conservatoire, The Purcell School and St James the Less Pimlico. We aim to bring the wind quintet profile to the same standing as the string quartet.

Helen Burns

“It was really nice to have fast responses to our sometimes slightly ridiculous requests and I always felt very confident that they would be reliable and do a fantastic job on the day.”

Monty Jackson

“You can’t fail but to have been impressed by the wonderful quality of playing and the way they responded and related to each other.”

Peter Simpleton
