Heron Strings is a young and talented Acoustic musician originally from Northern Ireland who is currently based in Hull. His talents span a range of musical abilities such as intricate violin playing, guitar, vocals and even the use of RC 300 loop station engineering.
He frequently travels to accommodate clients for various music gigs and to pursue his passion of composing, arranging and performing songs of various genres. As a classically trained musician, Heron Strings is able to improvise and collaborate with other musicians to perform Folk, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical, Acoustic Pop, Commercial Pop, Contemporary, Dance, R&B & Flamenco styles of music.
Heron Strings has been described as “The One Man Quartet”, due to his incredible ability to create the textures and sounds of a small string section with his musical equipment.
His hard work and dedication towards performing over the years has been acknowledged with various accomplishments and awards such as the Merchant Scholarship from The University of Hull in 2013, Winning first place at the University of Hull’s Open Mic competition in 2013 and 2014, The Trust Scholarship from the Belfast Met in 2012 and 2013 and the Performer of the year from the Belfast Met in 2012 and 2013.As a freelance musician, he is open and available to pursue various performance opportunities such as weddings, formal/Informal events, restaurant performances, busking, session recording, teaching individuals or groups and much more!
